Why do I paint? Philosophy is always carrying me to painting. Light and colors have been matters for philosophical ideas and metaphors: Plato, Plotinus, Grosseteste, Goethe, Bachelard, Merleau-Ponty,... Thought are words, which are signs, like painting, which also consists of signs. Painting refers especially to signs in the space and is grounded on colors Philosophy addresses to signs in time and is bounded by concepts, the more transparent the merrier. Moreover, painting and philosophy are similar on to their common attraction for light and the celebration of proportions and shades. So there is a brotherhood between ethics and aesthetics. Into them there is always a mood which represents their living existence. That is the moral mood and the artistic one. They are very much alike. In sum, beauty is goodness entering throughout senses. It is just the promise of a better world, even though a never accomplished world –because art must not be an escape of reality. So I could not wait for more time, and for this that is why do I paint.
